What's included in your eye test
We spend between 30 and 45 minutes with each patient — no rush, and a clear explanation of your results at the end.
- Visual acuity — how clearly you see at distance and close up, each eye separately
- Refraction — your exact prescription: short-sightedness, long-sightedness, astigmatism or presbyopia
- Binocular vision — how well your two eyes work together
- Focusing — your ability to focus at different distances
- Eye health — examination of the structures of the eye with a slit lamp
- Eye pressure (tonometry) — to help detect glaucoma early
How often should you have your eyes tested?
As a general rule, every two years for healthy adults without a prescription, and every year if you wear glasses or contact lenses, for school-age children and for anyone over 50.
Glasses, sunglasses and progressive lenses
If you need glasses, we'll advise you on frames and lenses that suit your eyes and your lifestyle — including progressive (varifocal) lenses and prescription sunglasses for the Costa Blanca sun.
We look after patients from across the Marina Alta — Dénia, Jávea/Xàbia, Els Poblets, Pedreguer, Ondara, El Verger, Benitatxell, Moraira and Calpe — and we're happy to help you in English.
